John David Coffel, 72, formerly of Terre Haute, left this world on August 20, 2021 at Martin Memorial Hospital from Covid 19 having been vaccinated. He was born January 6, 1949 in Terre Haute to Mildred (Mid) and Jack Coffel. John was a 1967 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. He attended ISU, only lacking two classes to graduate. He joined the Navy Reserves and was activefor two years during the Vietnam War. He retired from Coldwell & Co in 2013 after 38 years, designing, assembling and installing conveyor belts, along with Industrial sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred (mid) Coffel, and baby sister, Nancy.

John is survived by his wife, Cherie (Hulett) Coffel, two sons, Joel Hulett and Christopher Coffel. One sister, Susan Coffel Bledsoe. Three grandchildren, Jayton, Linlee and Keegan Hulett, and several nieces and nephews.

John was an avid fisherman, enjoying the salt water fishing here in South Florida, as well as the fresh water lake outside our condo. He was a loving husband, devoted and proud father, and beloved Poppy to his grandchildren. He will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday October 24, 2021 from 2-4 pm at Greiner Funeral Home.
