Arthur Ray Elrod, 55 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 in Union Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute on April 1, 1966 to James Melvin Elrod, Sr. and Lily Bell Green Elrod.

Art was a welder at Coneqtec and enjoyed cooking outside, he was famous for his ham and beans. He loved his family dearly and lived life to the fullest.

Art is survived by his wife Caren Elrod, his son Joshua R. Johnson, and two grandchildren, Hunter and Lily. He is also survived by his siblings; James Elrod, Jr. (Sherry), Virgil Elrod (Sue), Darlene Elrod (Cisco), Cherri Flowers-Lindsay, and John Elrod (Kathy), as well as his in-laws, Telena Ellis, Ronnie Fox (R.D.), and Dan Quillen, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nieces and nephews; Misty Elrod, Terry Simmons, Greg Roberts, Jr., and Keith Lindsay, Jr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Westside Christian Church, 126 N. 8th St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Church. In keeping with Art’s wishes, cremation will follow services. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
