Irene Veronica Austin “Edy”, 96, of Terre Haute, Indiana, went to spend Christmas with her Lord Jesus, on December 20, 2021.  She was born January 27, 1925, in Daisytown, Pennsylvania, to Steven Pollock and Julia Pollock.  Edy was a member of Terre Haute First Church of Nazarene.  She was heavily involved in her church, and made many friends that she often traveled with.  Edy retired from CBS.  After retirement, she babysat several kids in the community.  She enjoyed sewing and ironing.   Most of all, Edy enjoyed her family, and her grandchildren.  Christmas time was her ever most favorite time of year.  On Christmas Eve, her family would gather together to celebrate the holiday.  She will be missed fiercely by her children and grandchildren.  Edy is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Kenneth Austin.  She is survived by her children David Piper Sr. (Flora) and their family, Kenneth Austin (Patty) and their family, Steve Austin (Jo) and their family, and Debbye Pearman (Bob) and their family.  She is also survived by all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 11:00a.m. in Terre Haute First Church of Nazarene, 801 For Harrison Road, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.  Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804.  Visitation will also be prior to services on Thursday at the church from 10:00a.m. until service time.
