Mary Louise McCullough, 92 of Brazil, passed away January 2, 2022, at 8:11 am, at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility with her family by her side. She was born September 24, 1929 in Bowling Green, Indiana, the daughter of James Oscie Boyce and Bessie M. Ringo Boyce. She graduated from Ashboro High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
On September 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Richard ‘Dick’ McCullough. Together they raised their sons in Brazil. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and Grandma Mary. She was always one to have dinner ready and clothes freshly laundered for her family. She was very attentive to details whether at the workplace or at home. She worked as a Deputy Clerk Treasurer for the City of Brazil and at the Clay County Auditors office. She enjoyed volunteer work at the Clay County Hospital in gift shop as one of her last jobs.
Mary leaves behind a loving family that includes two sons, Steve and wife Teresa McCullough and Mike and wife Joyce McCullough all of Brazil; one brother, Jim Boyce, and wife Carolyn of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Heather Walborn and husband Brian, Jared McCullough, Adam Hudock, and Jenny Payne and husband Geoff; six great-grandchildren, Emily Walborn, Hudson and Lili McCullough, Samantha, Laura and Jacob Payne as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscie and Bessie Boyce; husband Dick McCullough; one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy, and Eldon Burns.
Private family services will be held, with Gary Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, the McCullough Family Fund or to the Clay County Humane Society, 8280 N. CR. 125 W. Brazil, IN. 47834.
