Donald (Don) E. Pruett 68, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away
on February 3rd, 2022.
Don is survived by his loving wife Jill (Ingle) of 50 years, and his two sons (Little)
Donnie and Marc and his wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his mother Patsy
Pruett (Fears) , sisters Karen Greek and Lynn Harbrueger (Ed), and brother Mike

Pruett. He was preceded in death by his father Donald W. Pruett, paternal and
maternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Don was born on January 27, 1954, in Terre Haute, Indiana and served his
community by becoming a member of the Terre Haute Fire Department in 1976
and retired after 30 years as a Shift Commander. After retirement he went on to
be elected as the Harrison Township Assessor and continued serving the
community for the last 10 years.
From a young age Don had many interests and hobbies. He loved music; Elvis was
his hero along with the Beatles. By the age of thirteen he was playing the drums
and became a member of several bands over the years. Some of his other hobbies
included fishing, gardening, and woodworking as well as many others. He was an
avid race enthusiast who enjoyed watching NASCAR, but his passion was INDYCAR
and the Indy 500. Don’s love for the Indy 500 brought him to the Indianapolis
Motor Speedway beginning in 1967 and continued ever since.
He was a member of the Association of Indiana County Assessors, International
Association of Assessing Officers, Vigo County Democrat Club, Harry Truman Club,
Social Lodge #86, and the Elks Lodge #86. He served as a Vice Precinct
Committeeman. He was a member of the first graduating class of Terre Haute
North in 1972.
The family would like to invite everyone to attend a celebration of life to be held
on Saturday, February 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Krietenstein
American Legion Post #104 located at 2690 Fort Harrison Road Terre Haute, IN
