
Edna Marie Brown, 89, a lifetime resident of Terre Haute, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.
She had celebrated 70 years of marriage with the love of her life, Robert Eugene Brown, in 2019. A graduate of Gerstmeyer, she retired from the Vigo County School Corporation. Edna enjoyed her family and friends, travel, and cooking – especially desserts.
Preceded in death by her husband, siblings, and parents, Jessie Della Orman and Paul Glenn Orman, stepfather, she is survived by two sons from Terre Haute, Robert Brown (Tammy) and Jack Brown (Theresa), and a daughter from Virginia, Nancy Schneider (Jack), also five grandchildren: Jason Brown, Justin Brown (Olivia), Matthew Schneider (Maura Wilson), Jessica Schneider, and Mallory Eskew (Jonathon), and great-grandchildren: David Brown, Cameron Brown, Dominick Brown, Arden Schneider, Ingrid Schneider, Alex Brown, Alysa Brown, Genesis Eskew, Kaiden Eskew, and the newest member of the family, Pacey Eskew.
Survivors also include beloved nieces Patricia Zigler (Kenny), Linda Howard (Dan), Connie Perrelle (Nick), Judy Brown Rexroat, and nephews Donald Cooper (Kelley), Tom Vire, and Terry Vire. Also, surviving are dearest friends and neighbors of more than 60 years, Joe and Carolyn Wilson; sons of childhood friends, David and Don Alumbaugh; and devoted friend, Sue Foster.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Monday, February 14, at Roselawn, with the Rev. Brett Wilson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society or Cross Lane Community Church.
