Ernest “Ernie” Lopez, 68, passed away March 22, 2022 in his home. He was born June 23, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Elias Lopez and Maria Baca. Ernie was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Ernie loved his family, bonus family, friends, fur babies. He also enjoyed life and retirement . He enjoyed watching the show COPS, and also enjoyed birdwatching. He worked many years as a painter for Turbines Inc.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sophia Lopez, 2 brothers; Michael and Daniel Lopez, children; Michelle Whitner, Bobbie Jo Whitner, Mike Whitner (Jamie), James Lopez (Stephanie), Shawn Rogers, Tony Lopez (Shauna), TJ “Bugs” Smith, Richard Lopez (Donna), several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Ernest will be Monday, March 28, 2022, at 6 pm, in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be 5 pm until service time at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.greinerfuneralhome.com
