Michael Eugene Adkins Sr., 77, of Terre Haute, passed away April 28, 2022 in Union Hospital. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 6, 1944 to Miley Edward Adkins and Jewels Adkins. He was the owner of Mike’s Used Junk. He was a Special Forces sharpshooter in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved to play chess and throw horseshoes. He enjoyed to collecting John Deer tractors and other miscellaneous junk. He loved to listen to music; Conway Twitty, Dwight Yoakam, and Hank Williams Sr. were some of his favorites. While he listened to his music he enjoyed smoking unfiltered cigarettes. He was a very charming man, who loved the ladies. He was a devoted grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a step mother, Irene Adkins, and brothers; Mickey and Mark Adkins, and dear friend, Butch Swagger.

He is survived by his children; Michelle Elaine Adkins, Miley Edward Adkins (Laura), Ashley Irene Adkins, Michael Eugene Adkins Jr. (Christina Sparks), and Jessica Michael Adkins, a sister, Connie Adkins, brothers; Don, Kevin, Denny, and Jay Adkins, grandchildren; Keirra, Michael “MJ”, Layla, Karen, Mia, and Ava.

Services for Michael will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 5 pm in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be from 2 pm until service time at the funeral home on Thursday. Online condolences can be made at www.grienerfuneralhome.com
