Robert Vaughn Butt, 45, passed in the early morning hours of June 20, 2022 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1977, the son of Darrell and Rebecca Butt and was raised on the family farm north of Cory. Rob graduated with the Class of 1995 from Clay City High School.
Rob was an excellent welder and always had employment at several fabrication companies in the area. His latest employment was with Summit Steel, until his health began to fail. Rob’s true love was his son, Jason. Watching Jason graduate was a proud Dad moment for Rob this spring. After lunch on Father’s Day, Rob was fondly reminiscing of his 4-H years, especially being “Fair King”.
Rob is preceded in death by his grandparents; Robert and Marge Stoelting and Vaughn Butt.
Rob is survived by his parents, son, Jason, brother, Joshua Butt and wife Laura, niece and nephew; Ava and Elijah Butt, grandma, Doris Butt, aunts and uncles; Faye and Terry Funk, Duane and Kathy Butt, and Scott and Jorita Wilson, fiancé, Chelsie Hodson and her children, Poppy and Ryker and many cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been established to benefit Jason. Contributions can be made at any First Farmers Bank.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22nd from 5-8 P.M. at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Avenue in Brazil. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, Thursday, June 23rd at 10 AM officiated by Brother Brian Burns. Friends and family may visit from 9 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
