David Wade Slaven Sr., 74, of Terre Haute passed away on June 28, 2022 in Union Hospital.  He was born February 16, 1948 in Sullivan, Indiana, to Ledford Paul Slaven and Mary Magdalene Chubb Slaven.  He retired from Bemis and a press operator.  David was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He loved to spend his time with family and friends.  He also enjoyed working on and building computers.  He enjoyed listening to local bands play music.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his days outside on the courses.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Dianna Lynn Slaven (d. 6/5/2003), sisters; Peggy Slaven and Donna Slaven-Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Slaven (m. 5/14/2005), sons; Kevin Akers (Tosha), and Daniel Watson, daughters; Dianna “Annie” Slaven (Neal Lawhorn), and Erika Halleck, brothers, Paul Slaven (Kim), grandchildren; Victoria, Gabe, Dacoda, Morgan, Reid, Liam, Evan, and Masey, a great grandson, Greyson, a special cousin, Michael Bedwell, and several nieces, and nephews.

Services for David will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804 with military rites at 4 pm followed by visitation until services at 6 pm, officiated by David Felstein. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  A celebration of life will also take place at a later date.  Online condolences can be made at www.greinerfuneralhome.com
