Katelyn Marie Newell, 17, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away July 5, 2022 in her home. She was born Decmeber 6, 2004, to Scott Michael Eugene Moody and Robin Marie (Newell) Moody. Katelyn was excited to be entering her Senior year at Terre Haute North Vigo High School. She was born with a heart condition and was receiving care at Riley Childrens Hospital where she had several heart surgeries prior to receiving a heart transplant 9 years ago. Katelyn continued to impress the Riley Transplant team over the past 9 years with successful follow up appointments. She got to meet Justin Bieber at one of his concerts and with Make-A-Wish she was able to go with her family to Disney World in Florida. Throughout all of her life’s history, no matter what was going on, Katelyn always had a smile on her face. Sometimes it was hard to tell if Katelyn wasn’t feeling well because she would still joke around and have that big smile going. Katelyn is survived by her Parents Scott and Robin Moody; Siblings Damian Newell (Gracie), Robert Newell, Shawn Welch (Brittany), Cameron Moody (Rachel), Aaron Moody, Austin Moody (Britney), Alex Moody; Nieces and Nephews, Dylan, Bryah, Liam and Kory Welch, Colton, Clayton and Caston Moody, Hazel and Franklin Newell, Haisley Moody, Oakley and Judson Moody; Grandparents; Monica Trotter, Todd Newell (Debbie), and Mickey Moody. Aunts and Uncles; Barbie Fifer (Terry), Randy Newell (Brittany), Ashley Sullivan, Hayley Gotto (Taylor), Curtis Newell (Cheyenne), Jennifer Moody and several cousins. Katelyn is preceded in death by her Grandparents Franklin Trotter and Jean Moody also her niece Maelynne Moody. Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Greiner Funeral Home from 2:00pm until services at 4:00pm.
