Bruce E. Wilkinson, 67, of Chillicothe, OH passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 9, 2022 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Bruce was born in Terre Haute, IN to Marie and John M. Wilkinson, Sr. on October 31, 1954. His faith was formed and cemented during his youth while a member of Dean Avenue Christian Church in Terre Haute, where he was baptized.

In 1973 Bruce was a member of the second graduating class of Terre Haute South Vigo High School. He was a 1977 graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology which bestowed upon him a degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduation, Bruce began a 37-year career with the former Goodyear Atomic Corporation plant located in Piketon, OH. While working there, Bruce took night classes and earned an MBA degree from Ohio University.

Bruce loved to fish and enjoyed hunting squirrel and deer. Despite eye problems, he was a perennial menace to morel mushrooms. He was a long-time member of the Eagles and Elks, and loved being a part of the community service work done by them.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents and by good friend, Harley Davidson devotee Everett “Bud” Montgomery of Ohio.

Bruce is survived by two brothers, John (Judy) Wilkinson of Tallmadge, OH and Clay Wilkinson of Terre Haute, two nephews, Brian (Antoinette) Wilkinson of Potomac, MD and Dr. Bradley Wilkinson of Durham, NC (and fiancée Elyssa Johnson of Alexandria, VA). Also surviving are great nephews Reid and Connor Wilkinson of Potomac, two aunts, Jane Braden and Suzanne Boswell, both of Terre Haute, long-time special friend Sue Anne Knisley and loyal friend Beth Montgomery, both of Chillicothe and Bruce’s long-time friend, fishing buddy and fellow Indy 500 race fan Dennis “Doc” Watson of Loda, IL, as well as numerous friends, cousins and other relatives.

Bruce was a dedicated member of the historic First Christian Church in Chillicothe which he helped to support with his prowess for grant writing for the building fund. Bruce’s family and friends wish to thank the Emergency Room and especially the nurses, doctors and other staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Adena Regional Medical Center for their able and compassionate care.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm in the Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, IN. His online memorial guestbook is available at: www.callahanandhughes.com
