Thelma Louise Thomas, 92, of Brazil (Lena), Indiana, passed away on August 4, 2022.

Thelma was born on January 29, 1930, in Clay County, Indiana, the daughter of Anson “Si” and Mary (Mitchel) Milner. She graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1947. She married Charles “Chuck” E. Thomas on May 8, 1948; he preceded her in death 1986. Together they had 4 children: Kenny, Rick, Susan, and Linda. Thelma attended Lena Church of Christ and then McKinley Hill Church of Christ and had been attending Community Missionary Church for the past several years.

Thelma enjoyed cooking, candy (especially licorice), gardening, flower gardening, her dog Benji, and most of all her devotion to church and her family.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents Si and Mary Milner; husband Charles “Chuck” Thomas; daughter Linda Thomas; a sister Katherine “Marie” Milner.

Thelma is survived by her children: Kenny Thomas and wife Beverly, Rick Thomas and wife Beckey, and Susan Latham and husband Quein; grandchildren: Shane (Rachael) Thomas , Adam (Rebecca) Thomas, Luke (Kim) Thomas, Eric (Jessica) Thomas, Mandi (Steven) Escott, Joshua (Sara) Thomas, Ben (Jodie) Latham, Shanley (Lee) Cline, Sharae (Zac) Simpson; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers: David E. Milner (Dorothy) and John H. Milner (Dorothy); as well as several extended family members.

Visitation will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834 on Monday, August 8, 2022 from noon until 3:00 PM. Services will follow at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
