Shirley Ann Roundtree Toney Tucker, 85, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Monday, August 15, 2022. She was born June 22, 1937 to Thomas Roundtree Sr. and Abbie Gail Zink Roundtree in Jasonville, Indiana. She was a homemaker and her passion was taking care of her family, extended family, or anyone else in need. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and was always there to support them and cheer them on. Shirley was soft spoken with a beautiful, genuine smile. She was the matriarch of the Roundtree family and made sure the family remained close as it grew by organizing a family reunion for years, even if she had to host it in her own home.
She attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and spent years as a member of the Seelyville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Auxillary.
Shirley married Donald Jack Toney Sr. on November 26, 1955. They were married for 46 years until his passing in May 2002. She then married Robert Tucker on May 31, 2008 until his passing in January 2022.
She is survived by two sons; Don Toney (Brenda), and Randy Toney (Kris), a daughter, Cheryl Loudermilk (Norm), two step-children; Jeff Tucker (Jill), and Mitzi Parker (Dave), grandchildren; Donny Toney (Rachel), Ashley Miley (Josh), Alysha Kesner (Jordan), Kyle Toney (Lindsay), Kayla Toney, Josh Loudermilk (Autumn), Jacob Loudermilk (Lexi), and Caleb Fleschner, 16 great grandchildren, brothers-in-law; Floyd Hinds, Jerry Toney, Chuck Toney, sister-in-law, Beverly Lyon, along with several nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack, and Robert, siblings; Rosemary Fautley, Thomas Roundtree Jr., Barbara Ragland, Gail Fielden, Murl Roundtree, Earl Roundtree, William Roundtree, Darrel Roundtree, John Roundtree, Sandra Roberts, Nancy Hinds, and one great grandson, Cooper James Toney.
She was truly a blessing to us all and will be greatly missed.
Services for Shirley will be Monday, August 22, 2022 at 2 pm at Mount Pleasant Church, 3050 E Davis Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802. Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of the service Monday. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, following the service.
