Lisa Annette (Bush) Shields, passed away Tuesday August 30, 2022 in Gibson Family Hospice Center surrounded by her family. Lisa was born March 30, 1957 in Terre Haute to Imogene Mormans Bush and Lowe Bush. She attended Dunlap Methodist Church for many years and later became a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked for Public Service Indiana now Duke Energy and at the Airport Veterinary Clinic. Lisa was a 24 year breast cancer survivor. During Christmas, she would send out over 500 personally signed Christmas Cards to those she felt would not receive one during the holiday. Lisa had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially dogs and referred to herself as a Dog Mama to Anna Bell and Sophie. She enjoyed going to auctions, she was bidder #80 at Shadow Auction for many years. She enjoyed yard sales and flea markets. She loved anything vintage/retro and thought it was important to keep memories of that era alive. Lisa was very sentimental, always remembering who gave her certain gifts and always felt a need to hold on to them, after she enjoyed them she donated her special gifts to 14th and Chestnut Santa Store. Her mom always told her to “never talk to strangers”, that advice went by the wayside years ago, hardly a day went by when she wasn’t chatting with someone she didn’t know. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband and best friend John Shields, who she married July 30, 1992. Step daughters; Brenda James (Ron) of Terre Haute, Pam Grooms (Paul) of Coal Valley, IL., and Lisa Fineis (Ken) of Zionsville, IN. In laws, Mary and Jim Modesitt and Susan Clingerman. Grandchildren; Hannah James, Emily Grooms, Luke and Mark Fineis. She is survived by several cousins, best friend since Jr. High the other Lisa, friend and neighbor Melissa, chosen brother Jeff and many friends both new and lifetime.
