
Shirley Ann Ferrand, 83, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Union Hospital. She was born on November 29, 1938, in Vigo County, to Samuel Walter and Nancy Alice (Jackson) Gibbs.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Gil) Manley of Bloomfield and Tammy (Bruce) Bowling of Manchester, OK; grandchildren, Gib Manley, Amy (Jason) Fish, Chuck Christian, Kelly Klick, Laura Kimble, and Kaitlyn Anderson; great-grandchildren, Emily Manley, Abbie Manley, Mylah Manley, Matthew Fish, Avery Fish, Chelsey Christian, Hennisey Klick, Skyler Klick, Bristol Klick, Julian Anderson and Jordyn Anderson; and great-great-grandchildren, Brenley Jo Pittman and Miles Lee Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald Ferrand Sr.; a son, Donald Ferrand, Jr.; great-grandson, Adam Fish; and all of her siblings: Rosemary Rhoden, Helen Bradshaw, Samuel Gibbs, and Alice Prohaska.
Shirley worked for many years as a certified OB technician at St. Anthony’s Hospital. She also worked at the cafeteria at West Vigo High School and ISU. She most recently worked at Dollar General in Bloomfield. Shirley loved to work outside in her garden and her yard. She took great pride in growing flowers, vegetables, and anything else that her green thumb could grow. She was friendly, always smiling, and loved to socialize with family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Branham officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
