John C. Helton, 71, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 in his residence surrounded by his family. John was born February 10, 1951 in Clinton, Indiana to John Helton and Ella Rosa Helton. John enjoyed working with wood in his wood shop. John was also a helping hand and would give advice to anyone in need. John is also a veteran of the United States Army and was proud to serve for his country. He was a life member of the VFW Post 6574 in West Terre Haute, Indiana. John also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents; John Helton and Ella Rosa Helton, and his sisters; Barb Harris and Janie Pitts, his step-son, Adam, and his daughter-in-law’s; Kim Barker and Tammy Hedges. He was survived by his wife of 33 years, Frances R. Helton, his children; Travis Helton, Tony Helton, Johnny Helton, Mike Hedges (Darcy Hedges), David Helton (Abby Helton), Anna Steward, Amber Hedges, Ashley Martin (Paul Martin), Amanda Helton, his 22 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his ex daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Connie Helton and Parker Hancock. Service is at 1:00 PM at Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, Indiana. Procession is leaving from AMVETS Post 222 in West Terre Haute at 12:15 PM. Celebration of life will be after services at AMVETS Post 222 in West Terre Haute. Food will be provided.
