Vigo County, In. – In a press release Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse says that all inmates have been safely transferred to the new jail at 600 West Honey Creek Dr. The transfer of inmates was able to be completed in the overnight hours after a long but thorough construction project. Approximately 75 personnel from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Dept. as well as additional personnel from other agencies worked well into the morning hours to complete the transfer.   Plasse thanks EMA, Terre Haute City Police, Seelyville Town Marshal, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, West Terre Haute Police, Indiana State Parole Office, and Central Dispatch for their assistance. He also acknowledges that assistance from other local and surrounding agencies was offered as well, which was much appreciated. He went on to thank those involved for being patient through this process as they worked through various delays in finalizing the project completion, to the point where the inmates could safely be transferred. Although there are still minor project items being completed, at this point it does not prohibit housing inmates. All services in reference to the jail will be fully operational at our new facility beginning at 8am Tuesday, November 8, 2022,
