Donald J. Walton, 68, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on December 8, 2022 at Union Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute, IN., February 19, 1954, to John Walton and Mary Burns Walton. Don was retired from a successful career in Automotive sales and had worked as a Fireman with the T.H.F.D. He was the former owner of Walton Imports and was in contracting for many years. He was an avid automotive enthusiast and had a special interest in Corvettes. He enjoyed watching Barrett Jackson and Mecom Automotive Auctions. He enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors, walks on the beach and the many Piers in Florida while vacationing there. He was a very good cook, and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends at family gatherings. He spent many hours listening to 60’s music on Sirius XM and will be remembered as being calm natured and always having a kind word for others. He was a good caregiver to his family and friends and was very attentive to his mother during her lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Jacqueline Sue Walton and Ron Walton and a granddaughter, Kiara Walton and sister in-law, Cheri Walton.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his daughter, Jean Walton. He is survived by his wife, Nikki Thompson-Lampe of Terre Haute, a daughter, Melissa Walton of Terre Haute, a daughter Angie Oxford (Gary) of Terre Haute, and a son, Douglas Lampe of Terre Haute.   He is survived by a brother, Rick Walton of Terre Haute, sister in-law, Rosemary Walton of Terre Haute and grandchildren; Nickelle Maxwell, Elliana Maxwell, Myliah Maxwell, Kerrigan Oxford and Kellan Oxford as well as several nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for Tuesday December 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN. 47804. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Brett Wilson officiating.
