Rita Jane Hawkins, 80, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away December 10, 2022.  She was born October 15, 1942, in Monroe City, Indiana, to Kenneth M. Burns and Martha J. (Pierce) Burns.  Rita was a graduate of Newport High School. She worked at RJ Reynolds and Great Scot Grocery Store.  Rita was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kenneth Michael Burns.  She is survived by her husband of 31 years Patrick E. Hawkins; her children Carl Graham Jr., Jim Graham (Elisa), Lora Pennington (Charlie), and stepson John Hawkins (Jodi); siblings Barbara Gardner and Gordon Burns; grandchildren Jeremiah Graham, Justin Graham, Erica Craft, Jessica Wilson (Jon), Amanda Allaby (Alex), Adam Graham, Miranda Graham, Kenny Graham, Audrey Graham, Corey Sharp, Joe Sims, Autumn Hawkins, and Julie Hawkins; great grandchildren Madison, Chloe, Mia, Allison, Forrest, River, Caiden, Amiah, Makeena, Kaeleigh, and Krislyn.
