Joan M. Brown, 76, of Terre Haute passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 in Union Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born August 14, 1946 in Clinton to Lawrence Hartman and Agnes Berto Hartman.
Survivors include her husband, of over fifty years, Robert R. Brown; children, Robert J. Brown (Lori), Kenneth R. Brown (Gretchen), and Angela K. Ford; sisters, Diana Kyle (Ron) and Gloria Shoemaker; grandchildren, Brandi, Kaitlin, Levi, Shane, and Alexis; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Don Shoemaker.
Jo was a member of Maryland Community Church, Country Club of Terre Haute, and the Sycamore Club. She was a volunteer for the Hux Cancer Center for over 20 years. Jo was also a world traveler and helped start Camp Navigate.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2022 in Maryland Community Church, 4700 S. State Road 46, with Pastor Scot Longyear officiating. Due to current public health conditions a touchless visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Private burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maryland Community Church, Wabash Valley Community Foundation, or Camp Navigate in Jo’s name.
