Merle D. Stabler, Jr, passed away at Harrison Crossing on December 19th, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born in Laplace, IL to Merle Stabler and Helen Louise Baum Stabler on April 26, 1940. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Reese Stabler of 40 years. He is also survived by his daughters; Shelly, Julie and a son Greg. Other survivors include his sisters, Patricia Miller and Mona Brown (Bud). Grandchildren; Amber, Bradley, Rhianna, Arianna, Eli and Myra. Three great grandsons survive; Jordon, Jackson and Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Ralph, Sister Jackie (Fox), brother in-laws; Jim Miller and Bobby Fox. And nephew Travis Smith. Merle loved the outdoors, especially enjoying hunting, fishing and golf. He loved the NY Yankees and coaching and umpiring Little League. He worked at Anaconda (Novelis) for 34 years. Family would like to thank the staff at Harrison Crossing for their kindness and caring. A special thank you for Cindy Mitton, Merle’s niece. Cremation was chosen with no services per his wishes.
