Nicholas :Nick” Rocco Perrelle Jr., of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Union Hospital. Surrounded by family. Nick was born to Nicholas R. Perrelle Sr. and Patricia J. Francis Perrelle on October 15, 1950. Nick retired from the Terre Haute City Police Department as a Sergeant on January 15, 2008 after 33 years of service. He also worked at Fugua Elementary School for several years as a School Resource Officer. Nick was actively involved and held many offices over the years with the Terre Haute Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 85. He was also a member of Humboldt Lodge #42. Nicks many hobbies included building Hot Rods, owning a 1938 Buick that he drove each year in the Newport Hillclimb, he was an avid model train collector, and enjoyed showing and sharing his trains with everyone. Nick also enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a 1969 graduate of Garfield High School. Nick is survived by his wife of 18 years, Connie (Cooper) Perrelle; his children Nick R. Perrelle III (Shea), Kimberly Auterson (Mark), Corrie Perrelle, and Jarid Clapp Sr.; grandchildren Kaycee Perrelle, Aden Auterson, Andrew Auterson, and Jarid Clapp Jr.; siblings Kathy Callahan (Pat), Frank Perrelle (Vicki), Mary McCarthy (Joe), and Vickie Perrelle and a large extended family. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Teresa Perrelle, and a nephew Robert Matthew McDowell. Cremation was chosen. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, At Calvary Cemetery, with honors given by The Terre Haute City Police Department, at 2:00p.m.
