Fred Ray Myers, 84, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born March 7, 1938 in Terre Haute to Raymond E. Myers and Sadie A. Sparks Myers.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy L. Jackson Myers whom he married May 16, 1970; two daughters, Kelly R. Myers McFarland and husband Matt of Terre Haute, and Tacey L. Baker of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Carlee R. Carlisle (Connor) and Jackson M. McFarland both of Terre Haute; two nephews, Richard W. Myers of Texas, and Terry Myers of Terre Haute; and a niece, Robin L Myers Jackson of Florida. He was preceded in death by his father in 1976 and mother in 1996; brothers, Wayne L. Myers in 2010 and William C. Myers in 2021; father-in-law, Jesse Bob Jackson in 1979 and mother-in-law, Mary M. Jackson in 2002.

Fred was a proud graduate of Honey Creek High School. He was an employee of Public Service Indiana (Duke Energy) 32 ½ years retiring June 1, 1996. Fred was a member of Maryland Community Church and was Past Official Board Chairman and Trustee. He officiated high school basketball and football for 17 years including nine sectionals and two regionals in basketball. He was also a member, Past Master, Past Treasurer, Past Assistant Secretary and Past Secretary of Riley Lodge #390 F. & A.M. Fred was Past Grand Steward and Tyler of Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Indiana 1993-1994. He received Grand Lodge of Indiana Secretary of the year award in 2004, Grand Lodge of Indiana 50 Year Award of Gold in 2011, and Grand Lodge of Indiana Order of Service to Masonry Award in June of 2014. He was also Thrice Potent Master and 33rd Degree member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Terre Haute receiving the 33rd degree in 1995 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Reverend Dr. Vince McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 with masonic memorial services at 7:00 P.M.
