Melvin Robert Clingerman, 72, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away January 31, 2023. He was born January 3, 1951, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Edwin R. Clingerman and Mary Ann (Ward) Clingerman. Melvin served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked at ALCAN and later as a Correctional Captain within the Indiana State Prison System. Melvin loved riding motorcycles. He was a Riding Instructor and held membership in ABATE and HOG. Melvin is survived by his sons Aaron Clingerman (Angela) and Robert Clingerman (Paula); grandsons AJ (Whitney), Andy, Christian, and Garrett; great grandchildren Chasity, Chloe, Corbin, Clayton, and Chevel; brother Tom Clingerman; stepchildren Marcie McNew and Eric Chambers(Tammy); and special friend Tracey Keegan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lola McCullough. Cremation has been chosen, and a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
