Vicki Leventhal Bauer, 77, of Terre Haute, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 19, 2023.  She was born March 6, 1945, in Vigo County to Jack Leventhal and Edna Cooke Leventhal.  She has one brother, Donald Leventhal.  She married Randy Bauer in August 1964, and were married for 41 years until Randy’s death.  Survivors include their four children Missy (Damon) Baker, Mark Bauer, Michael (Michelle) Bauer, and Ben Bauer; two grandchildren Dylan (Jacqueline) Baker and Kendra (Matt) Bowden; and four great grandchildren Taylor Bowden, Wyatt Bowden, Bristol Bowden and Izzy Baker. She also has several nieces and nephews.

Vicki received her Savior Jesus Christ in 1972, and was baptized in His name.  She was a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ where she served as the leader of benevolent meal preparation and delivery for those in need until the onset of her illness two years ago.  Her husband Randy had served as deacon at the church in the 1970’s and had also worked on several building and grounds projects at the Wabash Valley Christian Youth Camp (Camp Wabashi).

Vicki graduated from Indiana State University’s School of Nursing in 1983, and worked as a registered nurse of oncology for seven years at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, and for 21 years at AP&S and UAP Clinics and the Hux Cancer Center.  Working for the caring doctors and nurses brought her much joy and happiness. She also volunteered for Hospice of the Wabash Valley and was selected as the Volunteer of the Year in 1985.

Visitation will be held at the Eastside Church of Christ on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 10:30 to 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am, with Tom Woodason, Elder of the Eastside Church of Christ presiding.  There will be no graveside service.  Flowers are welcome, however, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Wabashi, 3525 E. Harlan Dr. Terre Haute, IN 47802.
