Warrant service leads to arrest for 26 pounds of marijuana and other drugs

BRAZIL-On Monday, Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office wento the residence of Shiloh Holifield in Posey Township to serve a felony arrest warrant on Holifield.

While at the residence, during the course of the arrest of Mr. Holifield, Deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence.

A search warrant was then obtained for Mr. Holifield’s residence by Clay County Detectives.

Deputies and Detectives executed the search warrant, locating approximately 26 pounds of marijuana and several packages containing THC edibles. Deputies also located approximately one pound of psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms), which is a scheduled one controlled substance.

Mr. Holifield was arrested on the following charging information:

  • Dealing Marijuana over ten pounds – Level 5 Felony;
  • Dealing a Scheduled 1 Controlled Substance – Level 2 Felony; and
  • Outstanding Arrest Warrant:
  • Intimidation – Level 5 Felony o Criminal Mischief – Class A Misdemeanor
  • Interference with Custody – Class B Misdemeanor

He was booked into the Clay County Jail and held on a $51,000 bond. This case is being forwarded to the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office for review and charging information.

All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
