INDIANAPOLIS — A gun was found in a student’s backpack at a school in Lawrence Township.

A letter sent out by the school described the incident as a “parent’s error.”

The incident happened at Mary Castle Elementary (8502 E. 82nd St.) on Tuesday.

The parent apparently put the gun in the backpack when they wanted to go into an establishment that didn’t allow guns on Monday. The adult forgot to remove the gun and it was taken to school by the child the next day.
