Sebastian Klein, 85, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 with his wife, daughter, and son by his side. He was born March 1, 1938 in Neupanat, Romania to John Klein and Franziska Schwartz Klein.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalia Hirsch Klein; children, Edmond Anthony Govea (Pamela), Michael Klein, and Rosalia Klein (Jim Runyan); three grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Sebastian attended St. Joseph University Parish. He loved to tinker with anything mechanical and could fix anything. He built and remodeled several houses. His hobby after retirement was to purchase items at auctions and fix them up for resale. Sebastian invented the standing lift truck, founded several companies, and was an electro-mechanical engineer and realtor, which he was great at because he had the gift of gab. He served in the Army in Germany as a translator. He enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 17, 2023 in St. Joseph University Parish with Father Bob St. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice.
