Stop sticks use leads to arrest

TERRE HAUTE— On March 15th at 9:35pm, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota pickup on Erie Canal St. During the stop, the driver of the Toyota was identified as 42 year old Jacob Greggs of Farmersburg. Greggs was wanted in Vigo County on a felony warrant.

Greggs then fled from the traffic stop and deputies began pursuing him. The pursuit went south into southern Sullivan County where an officer was able to successfully deploy “stopsticks” causing the suspect vehicle’s tires to deflate.
Greggs continued south into Knox County where he crashed into a ditch. He was immediately taken into custody without any further incident.
Greggs was transported to the Vigo County Jail charged with the following-

Felony resisting law enforcement
Criminal recklessness
Reckless Driving
Arrest warrant for battery by bodily waste on a law enforcement officer.

Assisting agencies were the West Terre Haute Police Department, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police.
