TERRE HAUTE — ENTEK, a company that works with batteries for industry, got the go ahead Tuesday to bring 640 new jobs to Vigo County.

The Redevelopment Commission voted unanimously to approve the company’s bid for a $1.5 billion investment by an Oregon-based company called ENTEK.

The company intends to purchase 340 acres of the former Pfizer property in the Vigo County Industrial Park II.
