The Terre Haute Sustainability Commission, which has been meeting monthly since its inception in the fall of 2022, will be very busy this spring and summer. The group has begun work on the Terre Haute Climate Action Plan and looks forward to sharing it with the community by August 2023. To facilitate work on the Climate Action Plan, the Sustainability Commission will have a McKinney Climate Fellow from the Indiana University Environmental Resilience Institute’s Resilience Cohort program.

There were many community events celebrating Earth Day this year, including the EARTHlings Earth Day Climate March, the White Violet Center’s Earth Day celebrations at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana State University’s Earth Day Celebration, and a further celebration at reTHink. You can learn more about the Sustainability Commission here.
