Latest information on Thursday’s Brazil homicide

BRAZIL – On Thursday, Brazil City Police Department Chief, Clint McQueen, contacted the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post Criminal Division requesting assistance with an alleged homicide that occurred at 310 North Leavitt Street in Brazil, Indiana.

At approximately 3:50 p.m., the Clay County dispatch center received a 911 call in reference to a report of multiple gunshots being fired in an alley near 310 North Leavitt Street, and that there was a possible male victim on the ground. Within minutes the Brazil City Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. Upon their arrival, officers immediately noticed a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds who had unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Officers attempted to locate a possible suspect in the immediate area, to no avail.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives have received information of a person of interest. The Putnamville detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in reference to locating Jon Luke Benjamin McGuff, age 25, of Reelsville, Indiana (see photo).
