Charles H. Edwards, 89, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away May 11, 2023. He was born in Elizabethtown, Illinois on April 12, 1934, to Rev. George W. Edwards and Loretta Briggs Edwards. He was the owner of Edwards Service Center at 13th and Ohio Street until his retirement in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Herbert, Howard, Harry, George, Ben, John, and Fred Edwards; sisters Betty Bensley, Sara Jane Tanner, Ruth Ozee, and Laura Mae McManomy; stepsons Larry Gidorkis and Gary Gidorkis. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Marilyn Edwards; sisters Bessie Stone, Mary Lou Schmidt; stepson Steve Gidorkis; sons Wm. Edwards and Richard Edwards; and daughter Brenda Durbin; grandchildren Stephanie Gidorkis, David Gidorkis, Laura Woods, Dustin Edwards, Christopher Edwards, Joshua Edwards, and Patrick Edwards; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, June 2, 2023, at 1:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. until service time. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
