BRAZIL – Jason Lane of Indianapolis was convicted by jury on June 27th in the Clay Superior Court on Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 6 Felony and a Habitual Offender Endorsement.

Emily Clarke, Prosecutor, and Hannah Howald, Deputy Prosecutor, tried the case for the State. On April 22 Lane went on a 25-mile high speed chase on I-70 after Deputy Cameron Paul attempted to initiate a traffic stop at the 26-mile marker in Clay County. Lane fled from multiple police officers from different agencies through Clay and Vigo counties, reaching speeds well over 100 mph before stopping right before the Illinois state line. Throughout the pursuit Lane threw methamphetamine, that he had picked up in Indianapolis and was transporting to Terre Haute,  out the window to avoid law enforcement seizure.
