Vigo County Commissioners have issued a “local disaster emergency” proclamation to last up to seven days from Thursday when storms caused much damage in the area.

The proclamation calls upon all citizens to cooperate with county agencies and for county agencies to “exercise the most diligence in the exercise of their duties” as cleanup of the storm damage begins.
