Crawfordsville woman arrested in Clay County

BRAZIL – Late Sunday night a Clay County deputy saw a vehicle traveling erratically and the driver seemed to be impaired.

When the vehicle was pulled over in Clay County, east of Brazil, a Sheriff’s Office K9 alerted deputies to the presence of illegal substances in the vehicle. On further investigation, deputies found the driver, Tonya Barton, 50, was in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Barton was booked into the Clay County Jail on felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine; Misdemeanor Possession ofParaphernalia; and Misdemeanor Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
