Judith Diane Benell, 80, of Bridgeton, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, on August 20, 2023, while staying at Villas of Hollybrook.

She was born on August 1, 1943, the daughter of Donald V. and Arline (Wedel) Anderson. She graduated from Speedway High School with the class of 1961. She married Charles W. Benell on November 3, 1962; he preceded her in death in 2018. Together they worked on the family farm and raised their children. Judi was talented at Oil Painting. She was a member of the Bridgeton United Methodist Church, Covered Bridge Art Association, Chapter D. Goldwing Club, the Covered Bridge Square Dancing Club, and participated in the Parke County 4-H Beef Committee. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Arline Anderson, husband Charles W. Benell, and a brother Terry R. Anderson.

She is survived by her son Mark Benell (Jane); daughter Cheryl Mager (James); grandchildren: Kacie Benell, Shelby Benell, Caitlyn Mager Denny (Justin), Makenzie Mager Zumwalt (Kody), and Marle’ Mager; great-grandchildren: Willa Denny and Jaxon Zumwalt; a sister Donna Brackney (William); sisters-in-law Alberta Anderson and Barbara Searing (Ralph); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will follow at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Clear Run Cemetery.
