Leenora Marie Shaffer, 63, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away at Regional Hospital, on August 29, 2023 following an extended illness.

Lee, as she was commonly known, was born on January 7, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of John Henry Shaffer Sr. and Thelma Lee (Hopkins) Shaffer. She attended Harry E. Wood High School. Lee worked at the Travel Lodge, Preferred Tomato, and Hoosier Hand Pack. Much of her life she spent as a home maker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her father John Henry Shaffer Sr. and a brother John Henry Shaffer Jr. and a step-grandson Russ Nelson.

Survivors include her son Geary King Jr. (Bobby) and her daughter Crystal Depew (Rikkie Collier); grandchildren: David Overton Jr., Tyler Overton, Isabella Collier, Noah Collier, Steven Nelson, and Promise Large; her furbabies Lucy and Moe; a sister Margaret Shaffer and a brother Robert Shaffer; an “adopted sister” Louise “Lou” Christlieb; as well as several extended family members.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 10AM until 12:00 PM at Lawson – Miller Chapel 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834.
