Dorothy King, 93, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away September 1, 2023 in Terre Haute, Indiana, at Majestic Care Deming, surrounded by her family. She was born in Staunton, Indiana, on July 14, 1930, to Leslie G. Butts and Dorothy L. Butts (Chamness). Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harold G. Butts (Betty), and Dorothy’s husband John T. King. She is survived by her daughter, Monica R. Tener-Smith (David) of Terre haute; brother, Ralph L. Butts of Gunnison, Colorado; nephew and niece Kendall Butts (Ingrid) and their children; Garrett and Makaylah, Sheryl Butts of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren, Marcus A. Tener (Andrea) of Lafayette, Indiana, Rochelle Souder (Clint) of Cory, Indiana and Ashlee E. Smith of Terre Haute, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Hayleigh Tener, Mackenzie Souder, Bentley Souder, Hudson Souder, and Adelaide Tener. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 1:00p.m. at Summit Lawn Cemetery, in Brazil, Indiana. The family has entrusted Greiner Funeral Home with care and arrangements.
