Timothy Phillip Walker, 63, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away October 27, 2023. He was born on July 5, 1960, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Charles M. Walker and Edith F. (O’Dell) Walker Anderson.

Tim was born and raised in Terre Haute. He attended Lab School, St. Margaret Mary’s and South High School. After high school he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in the Philippines. He served for three years and achieved the rank of Sargent. After his service years were finished, he returned home and received his GED and attended Indiana Business College where he studied accounting.

He had several jobs during his life including night management at Bayles Marathon and security jobs, but the career he chose and liked was with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Terre Haute. He started November 30, 1990, and proudly served until November 30, 2010. He retired as a Senior Officer Specialist. I was told he met and worked with many fine people.

Tim loved life and was very active. He especially liked to do things outdoors. His favorite thing was walking the two dogs, taking them to different parks around here. He also enjoyed kayaking, flying model airplanes, going to car shows, as well as working on his cars. He belonged to Buck Creek Muzzle Loaders along with his brother Paul and even went camping in the cold! He made some of his own clothes for the colonial 1800’s time period. He did reenactments in Vincennes as well. On weekends he loved to go dancing to our favorite songs, listening to music, and visiting with friends. On vacations we would go on cruises and visit places nearby.

In his quiet times, he would have his “daddy’s dog” on his lap. He loved to read, mostly history and sci-fi books and materials. He was very inquisitive and loved to learn. The knowledge he had was amazing. Other hobbies were painting and detailing miniatures, soldiers, vehicles, horses and flags. His work was unbelievable precise. He had several 18th century board games and war games he liked to play.

As I said, he was an active fun-loving man and will be sorely missed. He was my husband, my friend and my love.

Tim is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Susan (Comin) Walker; his mother Edith F. Anderson; sisters Christine Norris (Rob) and Andrea Anderson (Lloyd “Mac” McPhearson); sister in laws Alisa Ennis and Becky Walker; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his two K-9 companions Shelia and Freckles. Tim was preceded in death by his father, siblings Paul Walker and Charles Walker.

In honoring Tim’s wishes, cremation has been chosen.
