Lila Mae Pickett, 90, passed away November 19, 2023, surrounded by family in Carmel, Indiana.

Lila was born Delilah Mae DeBaun on July 15, 1933, to Murray and Lucy DeBaun in Fairbanks, Indiana and was the youngest of four daughters and an aunt before she was born. She graduated from Wiley High School in 1951 and was known as DeeDee. She started working for Nichols Loan Company shortly after graduating and quickly caught the eye of her future husband, Jack Lee Pickett. They married November 16, 1952 and made a home in Brazil, Indiana.

Lila was an artist with many interests. She enjoyed tole painting, ceramics, sewing, gardening, calligraphy, cake decorating and the most recent was beading. She shared her work by gifting bracelets to those celebrating a birthday at her place of residence at Majestic Care in Carmel, Indiana.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Pam (Dave) Grimes, Robin (Sundeep Rao) Pickett, and Terry (Doug) Taylor, 6 grandchildren Betsy (Michael) Santoro, Brian Grimes, Becca Grimes, Zach (Jessica) Taylor, Reilly Taylor and Grace Taylor and 4 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Jack Pickett, passed away in April 2005.

A visitation will be held November 26, 2023 from noon-2pm at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Avenue in Brazil with a service following at 2pm. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
