Shirley Rose (Graves) Newton, 85, of Shelburn, Indiana, passed away November 30, 2023, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born December 6, 1937, in Shelburn to Samuel and Marie Graves.

Shirley was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a good cook and was known for her pies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Joy, David, Helen, Sam, Nancy and Larry. She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Newton (Janet) and Wally Newton (Shelly); daughters, Pam Cole (Mark) and Diana Sowell (Bill); twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother Bill Graves; a sister Nellie Taylor and several nieces and nephews.

Per Shirley’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. Greiner Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
