Laura J. Torres, 64, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away while at Union Hospital, on December 18, 2023, following a short illness.

Laura was born on September 29, 1959, in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Lowell and Georgine (Falk) Crist. She worked at Burger King in Kouts, Indiana as the manager. More recently, she worked as a CNA at Terre Haute Nursing and Rehabilitation and LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottowa, Illinois.

Laura was blessed with 5 children however, she was mom to so many others that she raised and cared for in their time of need.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rafael Torres, and partner Allen Gurney, grandson Cayden Torres, and Rachel Torres

She is survived by her children: Lowell Torres, Julie Torres – Franco (Francisco), Laura Donovan, Andrew Torres (Amanda), and Edward Torres; grandchildren: William Risk, Gabe Torres, Nyxie Torres, Dominic Torres, Destiny Torres, Francisco Franco Jr., Joseph Donovan, Kylee Donovan, Daniel Gagnon, Hailey Torres, Kinsley Torres, Addisyn Torres, and Aiden Torres.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
