Margaret Ann (Henderson) Korenski “Mrs. K”, age 72 of Terre Haute, Indiana left us on December 27, 2023, to be with our Lord. She was comforted by her family and friends. “Sweet” Margaret was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on February 9, 1951. She graduated from State High School in 1968 and then went to earn her master’s degree in teaching at Indiana State University in 1972. Margaret’s purpose in life was loving, teaching and touching the hearts of her students and people she met. She was a teacher at Covington Elementary, a pre-school teacher at the YWCA, a teacher at Sacred Heart Elementary, a children’s librarian at the Vigo County Public Library and a substitute teacher for the Vigo County School Corporation. Margaret was a believer in Christ with a big heart, morals, and values. Her hobbies were sipping iced tea on the porch while watching hummingbirds, painting, hiding and finding rocks for Terre Haute Rocks, reading books, having lunch with her friends, and staying in touch and sharing in life’s joys with her lovely friends on Facebook. She especially enjoyed Sunday’s when we would gather as a family for dinner. Margaret loved being a grandmother most of all to her grandson Jack Korenski. They would paint, read, color, sing, play and enjoyed learning activities together.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, James and Wilma (Deal) Henderson. Memories of Margaret live on in her loving husband of 50 years Joseph E. Korenski Sr; sons, Joseph E. Korenski Jr, Brett Korenski (Melanie); her grandson Jack Korenski; many nieces and nephews; hundreds of loving students and so many lovely friends.
Visitation for Margaret will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
