In Loving Memory of LeiLani Joan Lang, 77 of Terre Haute, who passed away surrounded in love on Sunday, January 7, 2024, following complications from a fall.
Lani was born May 17, 1946 to Marjorie Cannon and Charles Steadman, and was stepdaughter of Charles Cannon.
Lani graduated from Garfield High School in 1964, then continued her education at Ivy Tech obtaining a degree in accounting. She was a dedicated worker and strived to provide for her children as a strong independent woman. She worked at Chesty Foods for many years, had a career as an accountant, and retired from Columbia House Records after nearly 15 years.
Lani was a woman of strong Christian faith who made church part of her family life. She was part of a bowling league and received multiple awards in archery. She was an avid dog lover, but also couldn’t shut out a stray cat. Lani enjoyed crocheting, working word search puzzles, and working jigsaw puzzles. She looked forward to many “girls weekends” playing cards, especially bridge, bunco, or bingo. Most of all she poured out her unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. Spending time with them was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her daughter Sherry Lang, her son Darin Lang and wife Sabrena; brother Steven Steadman. She leaves behind a cherished legacy, remembered with love by her grandchildren Sierra Gossett (Joe), Darin Lang, Emersyn Lang, and Brandie Kearschner (Daniel); great-grandchildren Roman, Marlow, Eli & Ethan; nieces Stevanne Steadman (Matt) & Lisa Parmeter (Ryan); favorite nephew Doug Steadman (Rose); great-niece Faith; great-nephews Tyson, Colt, & Bo and a host of extended family and friends whom she adored.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and brother Forrest Steadman.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 1:00p.m. at Highland Lawn Cemetery.
