Nancy Kay Roberts

Nancy Kay Roberts, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. Nancy was born in Terre Haute on December 26, 1947, to Richard E. Roberts and Margaret F. (Struckman) Roberts. She graduated high school from Gerstmeyer Tech in 1966. The summer after high school she became employed at General Telephone (GTE/Verizon), giving 36 years of service. Nancy continued to work part-time after retirement. She was employed by Indiana State University for 32 years as an usher for Tilson Music Hall, Hulman Center, and Memorial Stadium.  She loved ISU basketball.  When she wasn’t working for ISU, she worked for JR Pharmacy for 20 years delivering prescriptions for the elderly and handicapped who could not reach the pharmacy. She continued in both positions during the COVID-19 epidemic.

She was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1948 as a child and confirmed as a teen in the early 1960s. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority for 14 years.

Nancy was an avid bowler. She participated in the Art Compton league on Tuesdays (35 years) and the Wednesday night league.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, Bobbi Roberts, and three special Shelties, Tobi, Abi, and Kaysea.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Roberts Jack (Michael), and the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Nathan Alan Dinkel and Madison Kay Jack. She is also survived by brothers, Richard (Rick) W. Roberts, and David E. Roberts; nephews, Brian Roberts (Kelly) and Derek Roberts (Andrea), and great-nephews Ryan Roberts, Thomas Roberts (Baylei), and Dylan Roberts.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 29th, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N 13th Street Terre Haute, IN 47804. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park Remembrance Section with graveside services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024.
