TERRE HAUTE – Donald Leroy Bonsall passed away, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Harrison Crossing following an extended illness.  He was born on November 16, 1932 to Claude Stanton Bonsall and his wife Hilda Deardorff.

Mr. Bonsall was employed for most of his life with Philco Corporation which was later acquired by Ford Motor Company. He married the love of his life, Nancy Jean Bahl, in 1955 following his service with the Armed Forces in Korea.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, pitching horseshoes, and playing volleyball.

He is survived by his spouse, Nancy, and his children Donald G. Bonsall, Daniel J. Bonsall (Lorraine Hopson), and Dennis E. Bonsall (Diane Sorenson). He is also survived by his three grandchildren, David Bonsall (Madison Culver), Kate Bonsall, and Megan Bonsall. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his brother, C. Stanton Bonsall, Jr. (Lavinia) and his sister Shirley Manganaro (Anthony).

He was deeply loved and will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Cremation was chosen.  A celebration of his life will be held at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47804 on Thursday, February 15. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm with a service at 3:30. Online condolences can be made at: www.greinerfuneralhome.com
