Karen Walters Layne of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away February 5, 2024 at Envive Health Care of Sullivan.  She was born March 13, 1957 to Rex Walters and Pearl Hooker.  Karen was a homemaker.  She cherished time with her children and grandchildren.  Karen was a devoted mother, sister, and friend.  Karen is survived by her loving partner Wayne Shreve, as well as her children Sissy :Ann: Layne (Sammy), Crystal Downey (Matt), Brian Layne 9Tera); grandchildren Autumn, Jeffrey, Oliver, Christian, Caitlyn, Kimmy, and Marcus; brother and sisters Ralph Walters, Gary Walters, Raymond Wyrick, Dennis Wyrick, David Wyrick, Ernie Wyrick, Susie Newburn (Bill) and Dianna Walters; and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers Rex Bunting and Glen Walters; special cousin Lenny Hamblen and a lifelong partner Kenny Downey.  Cremation has been chosen.  A private burial and a celebration of life will be at a later date.  She will be truly missed by family and friends.  Cremation has been entrusted to Greiner Funeral Home.
