Ronnie J. Wood, 77, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center. He was born October 25, 1946 in Terre Haute to Homer H. “Buss” Wood and Audrey Lake Hartman Wood.

 

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Mary D. Gardner Wood; sons, Rick J. Wood and his wife Mendi (Wells) Wood, Brent A. Wood and his wife Jaymie E. Barrett Wood, and Brian L. Wood and his wife Kelley S. Market Wood; his grandchildren, Redding J. (RJ) Wood, Ryker W. Wood, Rachel L. Wood, and Evrett M. Wood; his brother, Buss Lee Wood; cousins; and friends.

 

After graduating Rosedale High School in 1964, he attended the Kansas City College of Automation and Indiana State University. He joined the United States Air Force in 1966 where he served in Southeast Asia during the Viet Nam war. He married Mary Gardner on July 5, 1968.

 

After concluding his military service obligation in 1970, Mr. Wood had the opportunity to join Computer Services of Indiana where he began his long data processing career that additionally included Tri-Industries, Terre Haute First National Bank, Rueben H. Donnelley, PEN Products, and finally the Indiana Office of Technology.
